Texas Home Learning

Parents, TEA has waived end of year assessments (STAAR)  for this school year due to COVID-19.  However, they are making OPTIONAL end of year assessment tests available to any parent who wishes to sign their child up.  Here's some resources to help you get started:

The 5 MOST Important things you need to know about Texas Home Learning

  1. The schedule is just a suggestion. Please use your own schedule for school work that is best for you.
  2. We are requiring weeks 1-3 be completed between April 27th and May 22nd. This gives you all the last calendar week (May 18th -22nd) of school to catch up on any missed days etc.
  3. We would like all completed work to be turned in no later than 5:00 pm Friday, May 22nd. The returned assignment tub will be outside the Elementary daily until May 22 for you to turn in your child's completed work whenever you wish.
  4. The extra weeks (weeks 4-8) in the Texas Home Learning packet may be used for remote summer school instruction if so desired.

  5. Remember: we are here for you!  We will do this together.  Please do not stress if you don't have internet or cell service.  Every student will get a packet from T.E.A. in the mail.  Teachers will be available, so please continue to contact your child's teacher if you need help or have questions.

PARENTS:  Every student will receive a packet from TEA in the mail, with a print copy of all learning activities for the rest of the year.  There is also an online version of the instruction in the packet.

You have a choice:  You can use the print packet you get in the mail for all instruction and activities OR you can use the online version below instead of the paper version.  You can also switch back and forth between the printed materials and online materials.  It's your choice.  You will need to complete weeks 1-3 by May 22, whether using the printed packet or through the online version below.  You are welcome to work beyond week 3 if desired, and even continue to work in the summer if you wish to do so.
