OUR PURPOSE
The purpose of the Cushing ISD cheerleading program shall be to promote and encourage leadership and team spirit, to foster good fellowship and sportsmanship by example, and to promote enthusiasm and loyalty to team and school. Cheerleaders are expected to enhance a positive school climate by exhibiting leadership skills, such as respect for individual differences, building consensus, academic excellence, and always modeling appropriate behaviors, both in school and away from school.
Objectives:
- To become mentally and physically fit and athletically skilled in the field of cheerleading.
- To demonstrate cheerleading etiquette for public appearances and private practices.
- To provide an atmosphere of support and cohesion essential for team building.
- To support and participate in academic, athletic, and community projects that help the schools and district achieve respective goals and objectives.
